Self check-in was smooth. It suited my late arrival. the breakfast deal at the cafe across the street included tasty coffee and pastries. the staff was friendly and readily available. i got a free upgrade for my birthday, a sweet surprise. the location was ideal for exploring.
the room lacked a bedside light. the only lighting option was a harsh overhead light.

some issues impacted my stay
missing soaploose tap
My stay had some drawbacks. the room lacked bedside lights, so overhead lighting was the only option. windows weren't double glazed. This surprised me, given the busy street. there was nice shampoo, conditioner, and scents from marie-stella-maris. strangely, no soap was available in the shower. the tap was also loose, and only very hot water came out. the place felt barebones.

I found the central location convenient. It was an easy walk to the main city and train station. The staff allowed me to leave my luggage before check-in and after check-out. They even moved my bags into the room. The room was clean and spacious with a comfortable bed.
The hotel lacks a proper lobby. It is essentially a set of rooms above a restaurant. The staircase is very narrow. This made carrying my luggage quite challenging.
